About Me and D2, Hi I’m Matt, the founder of D2. For the past 10 years I have worked in the car body shop industry dealing with modified cars, bespoke bodywork and many magazine feature cars. From preparation to paint, fitting and removing body kits and panels, I’ve done it all.
For the last 6-7 years in my body shop work, I was a painter. Because of my background, I understand the properties of paint (whether it be old style, cellulose or 2k or modern water based paints) I understand what is required to achieve the ultimate finish. Different colours, shades and types require different products and treatments, with this in mind; I have a full range of products and methods, which help me to achieve the best result for you and your vehicle.
After years of working on customers and friends cars, with people telling me time and time again I should start my own business doing detailing or show prep, I finally decided to do it. The main reason being that I was tired of seeing people paying good money and receiving a poor service and quality from other competitors, in both paintwork and valeting.
My experience with different cars regardless of age or condition has placed me in an excellent position when it comes to realising the potential in each vehicle. No matter its age, value or condition, I can maximise the features of each car that make it desirable to the owner and others alike.
From an early age, cars have been my passion. At 16 I renovated an old beetle, turning it from a car ready for the scrap yard to a show winning desirable vehicle. Since then, all the cars I’ve owned I’ve worked hard to develop an individual style, from engine modifications to exterior and interior alterations. The paint finish, interior and engine bay have always been spotlessly clean, hence exhibiting them at car shows and clubs over the past 14 or more years. With many magazine features, show wins and trophies along the way.
I understand that the owner/enthusiast takes pride in their car, and with that, I treat each car as if it were my own. My attention to detail is second to none, not one aspect of each valet or complete detail is left untouched. From cleaning the heater vents to polishing the engine bay, there will be no faults found.
I take great pride in my work regardless of the vehicles age, cost or condition. I work to achieve the best result possible, regardless of the service I undertake. A considerable improvement is acknowledged on each vehicle I have worked on, whether it’s just a mini Valet or a full detail; each customer has been astounded at the results, if I see something that needs attention to detail, it will receive it.
